Broadcast Interview Training in Nottingham From an East Midlands Media Expert

Are you looking to make the most of media opportunities from BBC East Midlands Today, ITV News Central and BBC Radio Nottingham, as well as other broadcasters in the region?

You’ve come to the right place!

Our one-day media training course will help you overcome your fears and get your organisation’s message heard by broadcast media in Nottinghamshire and the rest of the region.

The course is delivered by a former BBC Radio Derby journalist and East Midlands-based media manager for a national charity.

We are confident that our tried-and-tested course will be one of the most useful training courses your staff can receive - and is one of the best value media training courses in the UK.

What does the course cover?

Our one day broadcast interview training course typically runs from 10am – 4pm and follows our tried-and-tested four-step structure.

We aim to build confidence in using media, rather than leaving people feeling more worried than when they arrived!

Our specialism is in regional and local television and radio, but the principles of good communication covered in the course can also be applied to national broadcast interviews.

How much does it cost?

We charge a fixed price per group of £796 + VAT for a one day course. The price is the same regardless of how many people are on the course - but we recommend a group of 3 - 5 people.

For a group of four, our price works out as £199 + VAT per delegate. We can tweak the course for smaller and larger groups, but we’ve found that 3 - 5 people creates the best learning environment.

Our price is considerably lower than many other broadcast interview training courses – many of whom charge several hundred pounds per person.

To keep our prices affordable we ask you to provide the venue, such as a meeting room - and we don’t provide lunch (although we will bring some snacks and allow time for a lunch break). We provide unedited recordings of the day’s interviews for free.

Where is the training held?

We come to you, wherever you are in Nottingham, Newark, Mansfield, Sutton-in-Ashfield, Retford or anywhere elsewhere in Nottinghamshire.

We just need a room large enough for about six people. We’ll bring all the equipment required including lighting and professional recording equipment.

Our base is near Grantham and we don’t charge any travel expenses for training courses held anywhere in Nottingham or Nottinghamshire.

The course is led by me - Robbie Lane.

I’m an East Midlands based media professional with experience on both sides of the microphone - both as a BBC journalist and as a PR expert.

I’ve worked as a reporter, newsreader and producer for the BBC in the East Midlands at BBC Radio Derby. I’ve also worked in the East Midlands as Media Manager for a national charity, working with media in Nottingham, Lincoln, Derby, Northamptonshire and Leicester.

My wife, Hannah, is co-director of Guru Media Ltd. She is a skilled administrator and supports with the practical side of the business thanks to several years in hotel management and HR in Nottingham and Lincolnshire.
